How to search for information
1
Choose the jurisdictions that are relevant to you
Depending on your citizenship, and place of permanent residence, you may be recognized as a currency resident in a particular state. It is also possible that a person is recognized as a currency resident in several states at once.
2
Familiarize yourself with the criteria for a currency resident
The criteria for recognizing a person as a currency resident, operating in different countries, may vary. Determine which criteria apply to you.
3
Check the currency control requirements in your respective country
Read what restrictions and requirements related to cash settlements apply to you in the country (countries) where you are recognized (may be recognized) as a currency resident. Find out what reporting you need to submit and what documents will be required to complete it. Check if the monetary transaction you are planning is prohibited in order to avoid the risk of a fine.
